Speech, Language and Communication

Speech and Language Therapy consists of assessments and therapy services for the following areas of communication:

Articulation and Phonology: production and the processes involved in the production of speech sounds appropriate to the child's chronological age

Receptive Language Skills: understanding of language and the skills involved in following directions, instructions with conjunctions, clauses and comprehension of the language

Expressive Language Skills: the ability to speak in phrases, sentences using age appropriate and linguistically appropriate vocabulary

Socio-Pragmatic Skills: the ability to understand cues, facial expressions, body language, to initiate and undertake topic maintenance, to interact using appropriate social strategies
